Which Security Software/ Anti-Virus Software do you use?

I used to have Kaspersky which is I believe the most expensive and superior security software according to reviews. It was indeed great but it did slow my system down a bit because the scan take awhile to complete. When it expired, I got ESET NOD 32 on my desktop with XP OS and Microsoft Security Essentials on my laptop that has Win7 OS. So far both of them are really performing well and I have not had any virus problems. I used to have Mcafee on my laptop when I first got it but when it expired, I uninstalled it because it was eating up my RAM. So then I got the MSE as I have heard so many good words about it. The good thing about it is that it is free and it won't ever expire so you are assured of a decent protection against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software without paying a dime. It only works on a Genuine OS though so make sure that you have one before installing it. The install process is very fast and easy. It doesn't feel like you have protection on because it is so light. I even caught a virus on my laptop which was not detected by Mcafee . Good thing there was only one that MSE took out right away

NOD 32 is great and is also very light. It doesn't feel like you have a security software on

Seriously, since it appeared once when i tried to download a computer sound recorder. I didn't see it being installed at my computer at all.

Really? Maybe it came with your computer when you purchased it. Mine came with Mcafee but I didn't like it so I took it off.

Nah, the computer has been broken and over-virused countless times xD When we got it, it didn't yet have a anti-virus and probably that's why it broke at first, because it was first time using it.
Computer fixer probably installed it, because i never have installed a anti-virus yet.

Oh yeah probably he did to protect your computer from catching other harmful viruses or malware around the net

I too use Nod 32.

I think i had like 4 or 3 different anti-viruses. And i never used to pay attention to names, so i can't tell witch ones i had. But i remember that one of them was Orange, White in appearance.

That maybe Norton. I have tried that too but I didn't keep it. It's a lot complicated and it sometimes blocks internet connection once the license expires. I have assisted a few clients with that same problem and taking it out resolves the problem 98% of the time

I have always used AVG and never had a problem. My files are always secure and my pc is protected all the time.

I use Avast! That does a weekly light scan for me, but sometimes I'll use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to do heavy scans if I think something's wrong.

Oh yeah I heard so many pc owners use Avast and how good it is. I just haven't tried anything yet because I'm so happy with Microsoft Security Essentials

With my desktop I always had AVG, it never game me any problem and was fairly good, it gave me more than what i thought for free, more than many are up to give you without a trial.

Anyway, the laptop I am borrowing has Avast! installed it is way more silently, I just know it is there because of the orange icon in the task bar.
