Stop Hair Loss in Women

Post by jortigas on Sun May 23, 2010 4:58 pm

Our hair is what makes us different from others and when it’s lost our identity goes with it too which is why women tend to panic when this happens. Good news is this can be prevented if treated early.

Our hair will be the first to show signs of stress. Most of our daily experience including finances, work, marriage, children, and family can be the cause of stress that can lead to anxiety, depression, and hair loss. As prevention is better than cure, the best way to prevent stress is by managing it. Telogen effluvium is a stress-induced hair loss related to emotional and physical stress like death in the family, pregnancy, or surgery. Consult your doctor if you experience sudden hair loss so that he can suggest options for hair loss treatment. If you are taking medication for diabetes, or hypertension, you may also want to check with him whether hair loss is a side effect.

It is vital to avoid stress because this can lead to serious health problems like heart attack, and stroke. There are many ways you can try to de-stress your life like playing the piano is an excellent form of meditation, exercise can reduce stress, or a vacation will help you unwind. Have a positive attitude and healthy diet. Since it has been proven that stress will make you lose your hair up to 50%, you may want to see a mental health professional for advice in coping with what’s causing your stress.
