What is the best OS for you?
Operating System Talk
What do you think is the best Operating System right now? I'm sure that has been a question that has long been asked but I want to ask what the General Chat members think. I have not tried Mac or Linux yet as I think they are more complicated . I have worked as an internet tech support and I know a little more about Windows OS because that is what we support. It is more user friendly and widely used by many. I want to try a Mac but it's just too expensive for me . I have Windows XP SP3 on my desktop and Windows 7 64 bit on my laptop. I have also tried Vista before but I didn't like it so I downgraded my PC's OS to XP which is more stable. Vista just takes so much of RAM and not too reliable. Windows 7 however is like a mastered Vista. I love the interface a lot. The downside is not being able to change themes as it is not an option yet. I have to live with the pre-installed theme because I cannot change it yet. Overall though I am very satisfied with the performance of Windows 7 and I am glad that windows has finally come up with a stable, reliable, and competitive OS
Re: Operating System Talk
Ima go for Windows, cause when i was juts a little kid, windows is the one I used and until now I still use Windows [XP]. Well, i really can't say that I love Windows, but its just the only operating system I've used XD

Re: Operating System Talk
I have tried a Mac when I was working but I didn't like it that much. The interface though is so good to look at. Mac is more on graphics and I think will make my life complicated when troubleshooting connection issues. I'm staying with Windows for now
Re: Operating System Talk
I haven't tried another OS either. I've only had Windows ever since but I don't really plan to try Mac or Linux either. I ma happy with my Windows XP. However, I think I may have to upgrade to Windows 7 really soon. How would you rate Windows 7 when it comes to performance Admin?

Re: Operating System Talk
I think i once used Mac, and i didn't like it, maybe because i wasn't use to it. But I'm using Windows, and i think it's the most comfortable.
Re: Operating System Talk
I agree as it is very easy to navigate on a Windows system. I think that what is best with a Mac system is that it is very durable and it doesn't need any anti-virus or a firewall software. With that your files are safe without having to add a security software that eats up your computer's memory.
Re: Operating System Talk
I have not tried a Linux OS but most developers use it for programming purposes. I think it's complicated for regular people like me who only knows as much about computers.
Re: Operating System Talk
I either use Windows XP or Ubuntu, or Fedora.

Re: Operating System Talk
Wow! Really? Is it difficult to use? I have not used a different OS than Windows and Mac so I'm very curious how the others work
Re: Operating System Talk
It's not very hard, you just need to be good with a prompt.

I love the Linux logo though. It's so cute. I have a friend who has both windows and linus os. I don't know how that works but I don't want to get there as I know it's out of my league
Re: Operating System Talk
Really? Why not? They are cute. I have never tried using linux or even see how the interface looks like . I want to try using a mac but that will take me a long time as I just bought my laptop. Besides apple laptop are expensive so I need to save more
Re: Operating System Talk
Windows. It's getting a fair bit closer to what I've seen of the Mac design.

Re: Operating System Talk
I think Mac is really neat it loads fast and works similar enough to Windows, I like it more to be honest but since i rarely used it I am usually caught up and I get stuck easily.
I am curious about Ubuntu. =]
