Worst Breakup Clichés Empty Worst Breakup Clichés

Post by Dazzler Fri Jul 23, 2010 8:04 pm

I'm sure that most of us have been in a breakup situation before. We either got dumped or we get to do the dumping. I'm pretty certain there are others who have been in both. Breaking up with someone or being rejected are both painful if you valued your relationship. However, sometimes there are things that cannot be avoided. Love grows and it also dies. People change and so does our feelings. If you don't have enough feelings for your partner to go through every trial and misunderstandings in your relationship, it will fail.

I think if the relationship is dead and feelings are gone, it's best to part ways while you still have respect for each other. That way you can still save the friendship and your memories. However, if the other person is not sincere with the relationship, they will surely pull up the worst breakup cliché to get out of it clean like:

  • Its not you, its me
  • I've fallen out of love
  • I just don't want to be tied down at this point in my life
  • Let's just be friends
  • I'm just super busy right now

Feel free to add some more Very Happy

"It is not what you're thinking"

"I love you but i think we need a rest from each other"

and any form of breaking up that is not face to face (SMS, phone, email, IM)

I hate the stupid excuses, why not just tell them why you broke up with them.

Here is another: "I'm sorry, I don't think it's the right time yet."

@Kaynil: Yeah these excuses are also very famous. Why not just say what the real reason is, right?

@Austin: Haha this is just funny but very true. I have heard that excuse before from my best friend. I also hear a lot of:

"You're the right guy, just not the right one for me."

I don't think there's a best way to breakup with someone because there is nothing you can do or say that can make the person feel better. I think you owe the other person the real reason for breaking up with them. Knowing the real reason will give you closure and get over the breakup easier
